Égide services

Travel preparation and organization

We issue students and interns with advance information on their obligations. And we provide visa application assistance for foreign students (from French consular services and préfectures) and French students studying on grants abroad. On some programmes and cooperation operations, we coordinate preparation for student and intern exchange arrangements with the cultural departments of French embassies and with the host organizations. These services can range from definition of needs through to budget finalization.

We confirm students’ enrolment at their host organizations, and can seek alternative placements if necessary.

Travel and reception

Égide takes charge of students’ inbound and outbound journeys from their country of origin through to their final destination. We handle travel and reception arrangements to and from some 150 different countries in all. In France, students are transferred free of charge through to their accommodation, a service that operates round-the-clock every day of the year. As appropriate, we can also provide personalized reception with custom services to criteria such as group size, nationality, age, poor command of French, and disability.

Accommodation

Égide works with a network of around 2,000 accommodation providers to offer students on our clients’ programmes short- and long-stay accommodation at the best possible rates. Long-stay accommodation solutions include rooms in halls of residence throughout France. We handle payment to accommodation providers and advise students on applying for housing allowances.

Administrative procedures

Through special agreements with certain préfectures, Égide can simplify administrative procedures for obtaining and renewing students’ residence permits.

Health and special insurance

For students aged over 28 or attending a non-listed education centre (and therefore not eligible for the standard French social security students’ scheme), Égide provides a special health insurance scheme covering accident and sickness risks during the student’s stay in France.

Custom health insurance cover

The Égide health insurance scheme can be adjusted to individual profiles, for cover in France or abroad, with different variants giving different service options.

Monthly grant payments

Égide takes charge of grant payments to foreign students. Payment can be made in cash at the Égide Paris head office, by bank or cashable postal cheque, or, for students abroad, by transfer to their bank account.

Academic progress tracking

Égide performs regular monitoring of the progress made by students on its clients’ programmes, liaising with their tutors to pinpoint students in situations of actual or potential difficulty.

Leisure

At its head office and regional delegations, Égide provides a warm welcome to students on its clients’ programmes, and puts on cultural activities to help them settle in to life in France and meet other students in similar situations. The leisure activities programme includes French heritage tours, visits to different French regions, sports, etc.
