    What does interaction with Égide involve?

    We’re in contact on a practically daily basis. When we award a grant, we provide Égide with full details using the standard form completed by the applicant. And we’re in regular telephone contact with Égide.

    What is the reason for this constant interaction?

    It can prove difficult for us to meet deadlines: we can’t always be sure of sending in the forms two or three months ahead. Then we might need to get in touch to check up on processing issues.

    What’s the working relationship with Égide like?

    Very good! We have different correspondents for different matters. But if I’ve got several questions to ask, I can put them to directly to Égide’s Africa manager instead of having to speak to each correspondent in turn. And I’ve met everyone personally, in Paris, which strengthens the personal touch.

    What is your opinion of Égide services?

    I appreciate the their availability and their ability to allow for our specific difficulties. If we’ve got a grantholder experiencing difficulties with reimbursement of expenses, they’ll go out of their way to sort things out as fast as possible. They do go to great lengths to keep us happy.
