In Paris and other French towns, Égide has its own accommodation facilities and works with a wide-reaching network of accommodation providers, which grant Égide preferential access and rates. From the university hall of residence to the prestige hotel, we can offer accommodation matched to each visitor’s needs, budget and duration of stay.
Wide-reaching network of accommodation partners
- Guaranteed accommodation
To guard against accommodation scarcity (during major international trade shows, for example), Égide undertakes to offer its clients an accommodation solution matched to their needs.
- Network of 2,000 accommodation providers
Through its extensive nationwide network of around 2,000 accommodation providers, Égide can offer accommodation from university halls of residence up to four-star hotels, for stays of any duration. Égide-mediated accommodation runs into tens of thousand of nights every year.
To ensure consistently high accommodation quality, Égide runs regular inspections of the rooms and apartments offered.
Égide also operates its own accommodation facilities (109 rooms and apartments in all), at two buildings in Paris and one in Montpellier.
- Short-stay accommodation
Short-stay accommodation calls for flexibility, and usually involves bookings for a hotel or apartment hotel (either independent or member of a big chain). Égide offers prestige hotels for visiting businesspeople, conference delegates and interns on courses up to a month long.
- Long-stay accommodation
Most of the long-stay accommodation provided by Égide is for foreign students in France. Foreign students on programmes managed by Égide are offered rooms and apartments in student residences in Paris and in university halls of residence in other French towns. The advantage of university halls of residence is that they are located on university campuses. Égide can also book accommodation in student residences in most French cities. Student residences usually offer a choice of accommodation (from bedsit to two-room apartment), and greater independence (especially as regards meals).
- Preferential rates
Égide works with a select panel of accommodation providers, which whom it negotiates preferential rates. For example, Égide-mediated hotel rates in Paris (across all categories) are 20% to 40% below listed prices.
- Efficient logistics and systems
Égide’s booking centre processes up to 10,000 accommodation requests per year, across all visitor categories. Égide also uses an advanced electronic logistics management system, for performing tasks such as paying accommodation providers (typically by direct deduction from the grantholder’s account, or by settling visitors’ hotel bills on behalf of the programme organizer). Related functions might concern co-funding, allowance management, advice and information.
If visitors in some categories prefer to find their own accommodation, Égide’s task might come down to deducting rent from the grant and crediting it to the accommodation provider’s account. Égide can also provide visitors with useful advice on applying for housing allowance.
